Clipped WIngs

Anything that stood in my way in this picture I ripped off. I couldn’t draw “little blue boy’s” eye so I ripped off that part of the paper. The black you see is my desk showing where the paper is missing. The only digital enhancements are the poem and the hand. I couldn’t write the poem on the bottom so I ripped it off. I downloaded the cool hand and fingerprint brushes from chain. Thanks. Everything else is the real deal.

Done with watercolor and ink. I used a gel pen to outline the watercolor. I am not patient enough to do several layers of watercolor so I only did two.

The poem is called “Clipped Wings” and reads:

When I heard your voice I began to float.
Higher and higher I soared.

Then I heard you say, “I’m not coming home.”
My wings had been clipped.
I was falling to the brutal rocks of reality.
With glass in my throat I murmured,
“I knew you weren’t coming home.”

More and more I feel pain,
That only you can take away
